PROTOTYPE
(WA.01)
GENDER-NEUTRAL
WARES

(INSPIRATION)

Inspired by the outdoors, the writers and the explorers, the wide—leg trouser is the foremost silhouette from our first collection.

(PATTERN DRAFTING)

Pattern drafting for the trouser prototype is a detailed, hands-on process that balances precision with creative experimentation. Each line, cut, and adjustment helps refine the silhouette, ensuring the fit is both functional and aesthetically appealing.

(TESTING THE PROTOTYPE)

Testing the trouser design is an iterative process of discovery, where each prototype is worn and lived in, revealing its strengths and subtleties. Through movement and stillness, the fabric reveals its story — how it falls, holds, flexes and endures.

Introducing the (PW—WA.01) trousers, a body of work from Elizabeth that encapsulates the art and act of living well, in the form of wares. This collection reflects two decades of exploration in silhouettes and shapes that resonate deeply with our relationship to clothing and the environments we inhabit.

Meticulously crafted, these trousers address the challenges of finding the perfect fit, as Elizabeth experienced first-hand the frustration of garments that lacked quality or design integrity. Her passion for menswear, with its robust fabrics and unique proportions, ignited a ‘want’ to create clothing that aligns with our daily experiences and values.

Having spent years in the menswear industry, Elizabeth witnessed the rapid and wasteful processes of mass garment production, even within high-end brands. This experience revealed a disheartening absence of narrative and purpose, igniting a slow burning process towards creating her own clothing — an ambition that has now materialised.

Over the past two years, Elizabeth has refined her skills in pattern drafting, cutting, garment construction and finishing, resulting in a cathartic journey that is quietly embedded in each pair. These trousers tell a story of iterative learning, inspired by her grandmother’s philosophy of “if you can’t find it, make it.” Emancipated from traditional gender constraints, they embody comfort, versatility, and enduring quality for anyone who wears them.

(PW—WA.01)
A HYBRID SILHOUETTE

THE ‘PROTOTYPE 001’ TROUSERS REPRESENT A SYNTHESIS OF THOUGHTFUL DESIGN AND INTENTIONAL LIVING, HONOURING THE SPACES WE OCCUPY AND THE STORIES WE TELL THROUGH WHAT WE WEAR.

Built for seamless transitions between city life and nature, the ‘Prototype 001’ trousers thoughtfully merge style and function. Structured and reinforced for everyday wear, grabbing a coffee or commuting to work, they comprise a silhouette that is also versatile and wearable for the outdoors. Crafted from heavyweight cotton canvas, these trousers are built to last, with a ballooned leg and partial elasticated waist for optimal comfort.   This collection is intentionally small, launching with a low run of 20 pieces to explore shape, wearability, and lifecycle. From here will be a continuous process that will see iterations of these trousers, and other items, which will look to explore the same dialogue.
